2010 is shaping up to be a great year for the Australian Timber Design Awards (ATDA). The entries that have come in so far have, if anything, exceeded our expectations. We've seen houses, resorts, and hospitals; renovations, fitouts and entirely new buildings; interior applications and exterior applications; structural timber and decorative timber. These early entries always help to keep us on track as the cutoff date (July 16) approaches and the work piles up. Despite the long hours, this competition still excites us -- and that's all down to the quality of the entries we receive.

Over the years, we've often seen some of the very best entries arrive in just before -- someimes just minutes before -- close of entry. We don't mind the frantic phone calls and the desperate last minute architect queries: that's all part of the fun of the competition for us here at the Timber Development Association. But we urge contestants to try to get their entries in a little earlier than usual this year, as it can take some time to enter all project information into the new online entry submission facility. And we wouldn't want to see anyone miss out -- especially given the quality of these early entries!

So if you've got a project which you think could be a winner, check out the expanded range of entry categories (something there for everyone) and fill out a registration form today. Remember, entries close July 16!
