It's almost time for the
2010 Australian Timber Design Awards
to open - are you ready?
If you've been involved in the design of an outstanding timber structure within the last 3 years, you
should start thinking now - before entries open, on March 26th - about entering the 2010 Awards. The
regional and national awards are numerous and diverse: they include, for example, awards for interior
fitouts, for outdoor structures, and for timber joinery or furniture. Whatever the project, we're sure
you'll find an
entry category
to suit it. And the sooner you start preparing your entry, the better the
chance you'll have of snagging an award.
To get you thinking about your entry - or if you simply feel like enjoying a bit of timber eye
candy - have a look at our online galleries of entries from
2009,
2008,
2007
and
2006.
Fancy a little more inspiration? Watch the
presentation given by Andrew Waugh of Waugh Thistleton Architects
at the 2009 Australian Timber Design Awards. Mr Waugh was the principal architect behind the Murray
Grove Tower, the world's tallest modern timber residential building, the construction of which he discusses
in this presentation. And be sure to drop by
timberawards.com.au
from time to time over the coming months: we'll shortly be putting up image galleries from
2000 to 2006; and we have quite a few surprises in store for this year's Awards!
